Founder and Executive Director 

Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Jordyn Jay (she/her) is a community organizer, arts advocate, and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Black Trans Femmes in the Arts Collective (BTFA). Before founding BTFA, Jordyn received her Master's degree in Art Politics from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Jordyn is a firm believer in the power of art to inspire radical sociopolitical change and is dedicated to using that power for Black trans liberation.

B. Hawk Snipes (They/She) is an entrepreneur, award winning social activist, non-binary ballroom trailblazer, archivist, entertainer & model from The Bronx,NY. She graduated from Fiorello H LaGuardia HS for Dance/Art and has an Associate Degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). In 2019 she joined The BTFA Collective as one of its original members. Miss Mojo (She/Her) is a multi-talented Personality, Rapper, Photographer, Poet, +Model, and Artist from NYC. Anointed the Queen of the Trans Revolution, Mojo is an advocate for the Black Trans community, the Arts, Equity, and Love. Miss Mojo is the Artist and the Art.

Daria Dee (She/Her) is a multifaceted actress, model, community leader, event producer, content creator and creative director from New Jersey, based in New York City. She is the founder of Hip Hop Pride which celebrates LGBTQ+ contributions to Hip Hop and serves as core member and digital communications lead for the BTFA Collective. Daria was an original editor for the award winning night life publication TENz Magazine and has appeared in TV productions like Pose and Blue Bloods. Her work has been featured in notable publications such as Bloomberg, Vogue and The New York Times. She studied Communications at Virginia State University, an HBCU.

LGL Tenacity

Operations Manager

LGL Tenacity (she/her/goddess) is a seasoned polymath social justice femme with over 30 years of seasoned experience as a hotelier, event producer, multidisciplinary artist, development & operations expert in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She is most known for her tenure as Director of Development & Finance at the SRLP where she raised over $5.5 million dollars alone from 2019-2023, 1 million was unrestricted from MacKenzie Scott supporting paid leadership development opportunities, community redistribution, and pro bono legal services. In 2022, as an abolitionist LGL was awarded BaBEC’s Equity Architect Award and NYTAG’s Sylvia Rivera Exemplary Achievement Award. From 2023-2024, LGL was a PrEP Spokesmodel for Amida Care and New Pride Agenda's TGNC Health Coalition & featured in media such NBCuniversal News. Her continued efforts recently awarded her 4 different New York State Proclamations from Governor Hochul since 2023. She is most proud of being a Co-founder of The Radical Hearts Collective with artist Paco May. LGL was also a member of the New York Women’s Foundation Director of Development Leadership Circle and the North Star Fund’s 2020 Giving Project, raising over $300K collectively for Black-led NYC organizations in less than a month from launching. She has also worked for companies such as Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental Hotels Group & Ice Palace Resort leading from the rebranding to an iconic $7.5 million dollar sale in Fire Island. Ms. Tenacity’s favorite event she has produced to date is the Mx. Juneteenth Pageant during the annual Juneteenth Weekend celebration with over 15 events in 3 days as a Founding Board Member of The Black & Brown Equity Coalition. LGL currently serves as Treasurer for The Board of Directors at Recess Art in Brooklyn, New York. Miss Tenacity gained her Bachelor's of Business Management with a specialization in Hospitality Enterprises and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's of Fine Art with a concentration in Film & Media Justice – hoping to shift false narratives & tell more tales of divine characters having a human experience.

 

Dr. Neil Montgomery

Dr. Neil Montgomery (He/Him) is the Development and Communications Manager at BTFA Collective. With over 15 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership, he has worked with top Fortune 500 companies and renowned global nonprofits. A performing artist and serial entrepreneur, Dr. Montgomery has also consulted and advised hundreds of social enterprises, purpose-driven companies, and social entrepreneurs. At BTFA Collective, he supports fundraising efforts and heads strategic donor communications, leveraging his diverse expertise to advance the organization's mission forward.

Jada Solèy Rodríguez

Jada Solèy Rodríguez (She/Her) is a photographer and creative producer based in New York. She earned her BFA in Photography and Imaging from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where her work explored themes of culture, memory, and connection. At BTFA, Jada supports productions and studio operations—coordinating equipment, assisting on set, and ensuring smooth logistics across projects. She has collaborated with clients and publications including The New York Times and Inc. Magazine. With a background in editorial and documentary photography, Jada brings a detail-oriented eye and a deep commitment to fostering collaborative, care-centered work environments. She channels this ethos into supporting the collective’s mission of amplifying Black trans and queer creative voices.
